English books for C1 level (advanced) · Essays in English for learners, with translation
Schopenhauer argues that literature should be judged by the thought behind it, not by style or fashion, and offers blunt opinions on writers, critics and readers. These essays discuss authorship, style and reputation. The prose is dense but structured in short sections, so learners can read one argument at a time and expand their vocabulary.
