A Vindication of the Rights of Woman
Read this book freeEvery sentence translated, natural audio, one-tap dictionary
Mary Wollstonecraft argues that women are not naturally inferior to men but appear so only because they lack education. She calls for rational schooling, economic independence and civil rights, and she criticises a society that trains women to be pleasing rather than thoughtful. The book is a long essay, not a story. Its formal but direct argumentative prose gives learners practice with reasoned English sentences.
